Writing for websites is a very different discipline than for print.

I've been doing a fair bit of this over the past decade or so. I regularly contribute to the Columbus World Travel Guide, and have also lately been working on detailed destination guides for major European airline websites.

It all has to be succinct and packed with information. There is no room for unnecessary floweriness.

The art of working with Search Engine Optimisation formulae takes a bit of getting used to, especially if one wishes to avoid the often stilted result that using keywords can produce.

But in the age of the internet, particularly in the travel industry, where so much business is conducted online, it's a useful skill for a writer (and his clients!), and one I fear that not too many specialists in my field possess.
