Every August at 📍Merbein near Mildura in Tropical North Victoria, a magnificant gathering is held to celebrate Australia’s most-delicious dessert, the Vanilla Slice!
🔗The Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph is competition that attract entrants from across Australia, and is supported by many local and national businesses including EOI, Sunrasia, and the Mildura Rural City Council.
it is a community event, celebrating great food, family togetherness, and the Australian spirit.
2024 marks the first time I was invited to the event and made sure to get involved with as much of the goings-on as I could. You can imagine with all the stalls (over 30), people, and - not to mention - vanilla slices, the excitement was through the roof!
